In English, we have been learning about play scripts. As play scripts contain a lot of dialogue, we have been learning how to use contractions as these are used in everyday speech. The children were given two words which they had to shorten into a contraction using an apostrophe.
Some of the children deepened their understanding and learnt about the difference between who’s and whose and when to use them correctly. They were then challenged to become ‘teachers’ and had to explain what they had learnt to the rest of the class. They worked brilliantly as a team and explained things clearly for everyone. They had even prepared a quiz at the end to see who had been listening.
